Stuff Happens

The question is what determines what we make of it? The answer is our State of Mind…the quality of our thinking.

Think about the last time someone cut you off in traffic. Do you remember how you thought about it? Do you remember what you thought, what you said, what you did? Did you shake your head in disbelief and use it as a reminder to drive more defensively for the rest of the day? Or did you lose it in a “road rage” moment of madness and start swearing and gesturing?

Now think about your state of mind just before you were cut off.

Were you having a pretty good drive, enjoying the flow of traffic with more than enough time to make it to your destination? Or was your normally clear and certain state of mind momentarily distracted by uncertainty or anxiety about all the other stuff happening in your life?

Stuff happens. What we make of it determines our experience of life, our reality.

If you are not enjoying what you are experiencing, check your state of mind. The moment you realize that the source of your experience has everything to do with you and nothing to do with the stuff that’s happening…your experience will change.
